Brandon Wallis is a Southern Gothic oil painter based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Born in Biloxi and raised in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, his work is informed by a layered Gulf South heritage shaped by German and French familial intensity alongside English and Irish restraint, humor, and artistic encouragement. These contrasting lineages inform the emotional temperature, discipline, and atmosphere of his paintings.
Wallis served more than a decade in the United States Air Force, earning distinction as a Master Instructor and holding roles requiring precision, resilience, and composure under pressure. During this period, he completed a Master of Arts degree, deepening his engagement with narrative structure, human behavior, and disciplined creative practice.
Prior to dedicating himself fully to oil painting, Wallis worked as the music artist behind Gothic Sasquatch, producing conceptual darkwave, industrial, and cinematic works defined by atmosphere, pacing, and emotional control. This background continues to inform his approach to composition, rhythm, and restraint in visual form.
Wallis works exclusively in original oil paintings on canvas. He does not produce prints, reproductions, commissions, or merchandise. Each painting exists as a singular object and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and full provenance documentation, reflecting a commitment to rarity, material integrity, and the enduring value of the painted object.
He currently lives and works in New Orleans, where his paintings explore memory, identity, devotion, and grief through intimate, atmospheric oil work.
