Gothic Sasquatch (Brandon Wallis) is a rising producer, composer, and songwriter. Originally a bass brass concert musician, this evolved into a college radio DJ stint with WMSV, involvement within the New Orleans rave scene, then developed into chasing live music over the years to observe fellow musicians in venues ranging from intimate juke joints to massive festivals. Acknowledging that the landscape of music is forever changing, he is known for genre-mashups that defy commercial conformity, with projects ranging from darkwave to rock...from house to classical. This has earned him a reputation for slipping in and out of genres all while building his personal style.
In 2023, Brandon Wallis opened and now manages his own music production company, Gothic Sasquatch. With professional presence on platforms such as Beatport, Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, and Apple Music, his radio releases combine influences of experimental bass, trap, classical music, rock, and dark subject matter to create fresh yet complimentary basslines within the EDM landscape. Recent projects include tributes toward his favorite genres of cinema: horror and science fiction. Having traveled the world as a military veteran, Brandon is a self-made storyteller adamant on producing authentic compositions.
Whereas earlier works were inspired by top EDM namesakes such as Daft Punk, GUNSHIP, Lusine, and M83, Brandon has also been finding his voice via study of darker compositions, finding solace in exploration of the macabre, the broken, and the melancholy. Using personal experience as muse, works have explored PTSD from war, religious indoctrination, depression, anxiety, and grief from child loss. He cites David Lynch, Trent Reznor, Danny Elfman, Wendy Carlos, Erik Satie, David Bowie, Lorn, Aphex Twin, Boy Harsher, Cocteau Twins, and Max Richter as influences, as well as the magical absurdity of acts such as Cirque du Soleil and Puddles Pity Party.
